Exactly what was on Dr. King’s mind as he sat in a Memphis motel room the night before his final public address? Pulitzer-winning playwright Katori Hall imagines a chance encounter between King and a mysterious hotel maid who brings him a cup of coffee, prompting him to confront his legacy and the future of his people. This moving work of historical fantasy is haunting, surreal, and full of unexpected humor. Winner of the 2010 Olivier Award for Best New Play.
