The Role of Language in Today’s Global Market

Students in the Language and World Business class (MFLL 199) will present posters during International Education Week, an event hosted by the international community on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus.

The students will showcase several ways in which language and business can be applicable in today’s challenging market. Each group will present specific business ventures in the global market and discuss cultural business practices in specific countries. International Education Week, a joint initiative of the US Department of State and the US Department of Education, is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. It is part of a national effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.

Clayton McDonald, Head of Sales, Global payments at INTL FCSTONE Inc., and a Language and World Business alum (’00), will share his personal experiences with language and business opportunities both locally and abroad.
