About this Event

https://workshop.utk.edu/workshopinfo.php?workshop=1391Following the implementation of new federal requirements and new University of Tennessee System policy related to foreign talent recruitment programs, the Office of Research, Innovation & Economic Development (ORIED) and the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) will host a town hall discussion on international collaborations and research security. The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT) encourages our researchers to engage with the world through international collaborations as an important part of meeting the University’s mission. The goal of this town hall is to support UT researchers as they navigate increased federal regulations to secure US research. Subject matter experts from ORIED and CGE will discuss the new federal restrictions and requirements, and will provide information about UT’s ongoing efforts to ensure our research community is able to comply with them. Researchers with close professional, educational or personal ties to China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea are especially encouraged to attend, to ensure they fully understand the implications of these new restrictions and requirements.
