The CEHHS Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships invites you to Unzipping the Zip Code with Tanisha Baker. Explore how zip codes shape access and outcomes and learn strategies to drive meaningful change.

Due to the interactive nature of the workshop, in person attendance is required.

Unzipping the Zip Code examines factors that influence access and outcomes based on characteristics of a geographical location. Participants will explore the influence of the five Es (Environment, Education, Ethnicity, Economics, and Experiences) as they consider how to support, serve, engage, communicate, and educate while ultimately enhancing efforts in promoting a more inclusive and equitable society.

Participants can look forward to learning how to:

  • Develop real world strategies to work more effectively in different communities
  • Identify actionable strategies to develop a more inclusive environment at UT for students from different zip codes
  • Examine the influence of environment, ethnicity, education, economics and experiences on achievement and access to outcomes
  • Explore barriers that emerge for communities with concentrated challenges
  • Collaborate and develop strategies that will enhance the ability to serve and support diverse stakeholders
  • Define barriers and bridges as it relates to increased equity in access and opportunities

Due to limited seating, we kindly request that you RSVP by February 17.
