UT Gardens Geology Camp

Geology Camp
Ages 6-12

Did you know that geology has a huge impact on gardening? A geologist is a person who studies the earth or sometimes the things under the Earth or even things outside the Earth. This week we will learn about rocks and minerals, how craters are formed, and even the types of rocks that are most likely to have fossils in them. We will also learn how each of these affects the plants we can grow all while thinking like a geologist. We are so excited for this camp because geology rocks!

*Camp is scheduled to be in person. All attendees will be expected to follow University of Tennessee COVID-19 guidelines which include wearing a face mask and completing a visitor health screening form each day. The form may be completed online at visitorscreen.utk.edu or may be completed on paper upon arrival at the gardens. Campers will not be allowed to participate in the summer camp if they have a fever, show signs of being ill, or do not have a completed screening form that enables them to be on campus. If necessary, camp will be moved to an online format using garden kits and an online platform. If this occurs, you will be notified with your options as soon as possible.
