UTIA-UTK Unification Coffee Conversation
The board of trustees recently passed a resolution reunifying UTIA and UTK. President Boyd appointed our committee to provide structured opportunities for stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities related to the unified campus. We are summarizing the feedback we have received in a report to President Boyd, Chancellor Plowman, and Senior Vice President and Senior Vice Chancellor Cross, which we will deliver on October 1. They plan to use this information as input in developing plans and priorities of a reunited UTK moving forward, especially in areas in which interests and expertise may be synergistic.
We want to make sure that we are hearing from UTK campus leaders contributing creative ideas and any concerns about deepening this partnership. Perhaps not surprisingly, the majority of input received to date has been from UTIA colleagues. To that end, we are holding an informal coffee and conversation session for deans, associate deans, and department heads on Tuesday, September 17th from 8:00 to 9:30 in the Mary Greer room (258) of the Hodges Library. Come and go as you please. Light breakfast items will also be available. We encourage you to attend or send a proxy to provide input to our report.
