Virtual Horse Management Field Days - Nutrition and Pasture Webinars
In the interest of health and safety for both the UT Extension personnel responsible for the field days and the general public who attend them, this year’s presentations will be conducted entirely online. Both synchronous and asynchronous content will be available from October 1 to October 23, with topics ranging from nutrition to horse management to overall equine health.
The field day is free to attend and open to both youth and adults. A detailed schedule is available online at UThorse.tennessee.edu and participants can register online at tiny.utk.edu/HMFD2020. Questions should be directed to Jennie Ivey, assistant professor in the Department of Animal Science, at email@example.com.
Webinars will be hosted on popular topics each week. Registrants will be asked to submit questions during the registration process and during promotional social media posts to keep webinars as engaging as possible.
One webinar each Thursday:
October 1: Dr. Krishona Martinson (University of Minnesota): Forage fundamentals (improving forage quality through pasture management, use of forage in equine diet)
October 8: Dr. Nettie Liburt (Buckeye Nutrition): Feeding senior horses
October 15: Dr. Patty Graham-Thiers (Emory and Henry College): Protein – quality vs. quantity

participants can register online at tiny.utk.edu/HMFD2020 and will then receive information regarding dial-in instructions.
