Women, Gender, and Sexuality Capstone Project Presentation
Under the guidance of Dr. Maria Stehle, English PhD candidate Jennifer Smith designed an interdisciplinary upper-level undergraduate course focused on twenty-first century young adult (YA) films, novels, and TV series for her Women, Gender, and Sexuality Graduate Certificate capstone project. In this imagined class, students will explore contemporary texts that upset the dominant heteropatriarchal traditional "teen tropes" and push them into more progressive and hopeful spaces. For the presentation segment, Jennifer will present information about the class Canvas site and then provide a mini-lecture on the first trope examined in the class: coming-of-age stories that feature a "love" triangle.
Please RSVP to Dr. Stehle or Jennifer so that you can be added to the Canvas class.
