Finding your Voice as a Research Writer when English is not your Strongest Language

If you’re a first- or second-year graduate student and English is not your strongest language, this series of workshops is designed specifically for you.

The workshops will provide advice and encouragement about how to use the English you have right now to manage the reading and writing challenges of graduate coursework.

The sessions will take place in person, providing an opportunity for community with other international graduate students.

  • Leveraging the Reading/Writing Connection: Monday, January 29, 3:30-5:00 pm, HSS 218
  • From Assignment to “Done”: De-mystifying the Writing Process: Monday, February 5, 3:30-5:00 pm, HSS 218
  • The Pursuit of Clarity: Monday, February 12, 3:30-5:00 pm, HSS 218

Register for one, two, or all three workshops by January 25.

Those who attend all three sessions will receive a certificate of completion from the Judith Anderson Herbert Writing Center.

Contact Dr. Kirsten Benson, Director, Judith Anderson Herbert Writing Center, writingcenter@utk.edu, with any questions.
